    Every time you place an order, we record transaction data including: • Items purchased, quantities, and prices • Order timestamps and delivery confirmations • Payment method type (e.g., M-Pesa, card) — not full payment credentials • Any special delivery instructions you provide

    2.1 To Operate and Deliver Our Services

    4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

    We share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate LitMall, including: • Payment processors (paystack) — to handle transactions securely • Cloud hosting providers — to store and serve platform data reliably All service providers are bound by data processing agreements and are only permitted to use your data for the specific purpose for which it was shared.

    We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of LitMall, our users, or the public.

    In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of LitMall's assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our platform before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

    5. Data Retention

    We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy: • Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. • Order records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes, in line with Kenyan tax regulations. • Support communications: Retained for up to 2 years after your last interaction. • Marketing data: Retained until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe. • Usage and analytics data: Retained in anonymised or aggregated form indefinitely. When your data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it so it can no longer be associated with you.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in harm to you, we will notify affected users and the relevant Kenyan authorities in accordance with legal requirements.

    9. Children's Privacy

    LitMall is intended for use by individuals who are at least 18 years of age, or who are at least 16 years old with the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take immediate steps to delete it.
